7 Meditation Tips For Beginners

Meditation ( Dhyana Yoga) is becoming an essential part of our life. If you are a meditation practitioner, then you should be already familiar with its benefits.

 
In today's world of Chaos, very few people know the advantages of it. Meditation is the ultimate key to a peaceful life & its definition is not gonna change. 

Most of the Meditation beginners make the same mistake & don't understand the true meaning of it. Meditation is not about concentration on something, for instance, thought.


 Concentration on a particular thought is a totally different topic (Dharna), whereas meditation is all about experiencing deep peace within us


When Mind is calm yet Alert that's the indication you are in meditation.



Here are 7 Meditation Tips For Beginners-


1. Stop Thinking

What are you thinking? or Should I say : Why are you Thinking? the first rule of meditation is to stop thinking and experience deep peace. 

So how can I stop thinking? Just look at your surroundings & detach yourself (soul) from your body and the environment.


 If you want to meditate deeply, then think nothing exists outside your room ( where you meditate) & Recite the affirmation given below.


" I Am the Spirit, not the body.
  I Am now focusing on my room.
  Nothing exists outside it, 
  like Black empty Space.
  As I said these statements,
  I begin to feel a sensation.
  After the sensation, I feel 
  waves of peace are passing 
  through me. "

 We are peace.

2. Meditate in Dark 



There is something great that happens when we spend time in the dark. 

Meditating in dark gives our brain the signal, which then leads to an increase in melatonin. Melatonin is the hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.


 Darkness also helps to reduce the number of thoughts. So how to properly meditate in the dark? 


Steps-


Step 1- Turn off the lights before you go to sleep or just after you wake up. 


Step 2- Make sure you are alone & don't use gadgets.


Step 3- Light a candle & focus on moving flame.                                 

In darkness, we can find stillness.

3. Evening over Morning

Good night sleep is exactly like meditating. We feel more refreshed in the morning, then evening.

 The reason for meditating in the evening instead of the morning is simply related to our stressful life. 

Understand this, dreams are the results of our thoughts & how we feel mostly before we go to sleep. 

A Good dream is a by-product of non-thinking or positive thinking i.e. peace. 

Meditating before sleep is also beneficial for lucid dreaming. If you are an oneironaut (lucid dreamer) or trying to be one, best of luck for that.

. Read a book


Do you the habit of reading books? Are you an Avid Reader? If you haven't made reading your number one habit, you better start reading. 

Reading before bed, especially, books related to meditation or spirituality is a sure way to a peaceful life.

 Unfortunately, most people don't pay much attention to their nighttime routine, they use gadgets before bed which is a terrible way to live your life. 

Start consuming positive & uplifting content in a non-techy way because your morning routine is as important as your nighttime routine.

5. Practice Gratitude

Be Grateful for your life that has been provided as a game. On the hunt for more money, more love & prosperity we often forget to practice gratitude.

 Be grateful even for your imperfections, mistakes and try to improve little by little with a positive mindset. Live in peace because it's the way of life.

 As you start planting the thoughts of peace & love, things began to change. Let go of your past, live in present & be prepared for the future.

Also, help your friends & family to do so. As we are moving forward to the information age, we are craving more and more. 

Gratitude will help you to be at the present moment & enjoy the life that has been granted to you.

6. Don't Use Gadgets

If you are the type of person who likes to use a gadget before bed (most do), Simply use red light filters which will block blue light which is not beneficial at all in the evening.

 Blue light gives the signal to the brain, which perceives blue light as daylight. Use as much red light as possible. 

If you are trying to change this destructive habit, then you are should try to reduce it gradually, not completely.

7. Be Consistent

 The real benefits of meditation can be achieved by consistency. Consistency is not only helpful in meditation practices, but in any walk of life. So, Don't give up, persistence is the key to success. Be determined in your practices, until peace becomes your way of life.

Meditate at least 15 minutes, on a daily basis. It isn't a job or activity, instead, it should be your priority. Keep in mind that smart meditators never give up & its the way they live.

Meditation is not hard, thinking makes it. Stop thinking & Start Meditating. 

Meditation should be done in a dark environment with a candle & some background relaxing music. 

Don't use gadgets, read books related to meditation &spirituality. 


Evening time is more preferable than morning for meditation. Be grateful & consistent in your practice.
